Hydrology is the study of the occurrence, movement, and physical properties of water on and below the earth’s surface, with the exception of oceanic water. Research interests lie in understanding the hydrologic processes of cold regions in relation to climate, vegetation and sometimes extreme events (volcanic eruptions). We have expertise in both the High Arctic (Queen Elizabeth Island) and Low Arctic (Iceland) landscapes and are known for research on snowy landscapes, hillslopes and arctic wetlands.
